The light wich is necessary to illuminate the test area so to enable HS photogra-phy and video will normally causes a heating of the airbag module within a short period of time. Thus the tolerance of the module temperature cannot kept.

In the past the HIGH-S-LIGHT Systems had been operated using the Standby (50%) and BOOST (200%) mode. These measures offered already good control on test sample´s temperatures requirements, but not sufficient for the low (-35°C) temperature requirements.

The new HIGH-S-LIGHT PS System now offer the possibility to direct the light to the airbag module only in the needed sequence of time. The main functions therefore are integrated into the overall test sequenze control. The essential components of the system are, the luminary, electronic power supply, the EPS-module and the control system. Additionally, to meeting the new requirements, this system is equipped with a shutter system to close the luminary.

Function within a test cycle:

Continuous control of shuter position (closed/open)

Start signal for light when shutters are closed

Lights operate in the Standby mode, fixtures also cooled by compressed air

Simultaneous signal for BOOST and shutter open

Performance of the test within the next seconds
